Planning my first trip to Israel. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to the Philippines?
5. How is the language barrier?

Coming from Australia with experience in Latin America but first time in Israel.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

I was there in January and prices were slightly higher. Spent about $120/day all-in.

My tip: midweek is much better.

First time was a learning experience. Second time was 10x smoother. Experience makes all the difference.

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.

Good info. Going during the week is much better — less crowded and better prices.

Adding my experience: scene has improved since pre-COVID. Biggest change: better quality.

Also recommend downloading Google Translate before you go. Essential.

Been there 8 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The value for money is what keeps me coming back.
