How long did it take you to feel comfortable?

Not sure I agree about the area recommendation. I found a different neighborhood to be better.

Agreed on all points. One thing I'd add — make sure to download an offline map.

The scene has definitely improved since my last visit in 2024.

Biggest change: Prices have gone up about 20%.

Still a great destination. Recommend for both beginners and veterans.

This matches my experience. Malaysia is one of my favorites.

Adding to this thread with my own experience from last month:

I noticed some changes since my last visit in pre-COVID.

Biggest change: More competition means better service.

Still a great destination. 8/10 from me.

I was there in January and can add some detail:

Prices: Slightly higher than reported. I spent about $50/day on the hobby side.

Girls: Mix of local and working girls from other regions. Quality was excellent.

My favorite spot was the freelancer area near the hotels.

One tip: Go early in the evening for first pick.
