Hotel recommendations for Border Towns:

Budget ($27-58/night):
Hostels with private rooms work well. Look for places with good reviews on Booking.com.

Mid-Range ($68-109/night):
International chains like Ibis or Holiday Inn. These usually have good security and privacy.

Premium ($138+/night):
5-star hotels with complete discretion.

Guest-Friendly Policy:
International chains never ask questions.

Location tip: Stay near the tourist area.

Great report, thanks for sharing. Had a similar experience there last month.

Word of caution — be careful with street touts. Other than that, great destination.

Also recommend downloading Grab before you go. Essential.

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: some old spots closed.

Been there 12 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The quality is what keeps me coming back.
