Planning my first trip to Central Mexico. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Colombia?
5. Uber or taxi?

Coming from Australia with experience in Southeast Asia but first time in Central Mexico.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

Word of caution — some online profiles are fake. Other than that, great destination.

Different experience for me. Prices were about the same when I went.

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: prices up 15-20%.

Good info. Going during the week is much better — less crowded and better prices.

Spot on with the prices. Matches what I paid recently.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Did you use freelancers or find girls at the hotel?

Been there 8 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The value for money is what keeps me coming back.

First time was good but could have been better. Second time was much better. Experience makes all the difference.

I was there in January and prices were slightly higher. Spent about $150/day all-in.

My tip: avoid weekends.
