This matches my experience. Cancún/Playa del Carmen is one of my favorites.

Adding to this thread with my own experience from last month:

The scene has definitely improved since my last visit in 2023.

Biggest change: Better quality overall.

Still a great destination. One of my top 3 worldwide.
