I visited Turkey recently for 5 days and had a great experience.
The scene is Slightly quieter but worthwhile. Pricing was fair.
Spent about $90/day on the hobby side. Best part was the friendliness.
Overall: 9/10. One of my favourites.
Happy to answer questions.

With respect, my experience was more mixed. But maybe I went at the wrong time.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Spot on with the prices. That matches what I paid in February.

Did you feel safe walking around at night?

Good info. I'd add that going during the week is much better — less crowded, better prices.

Been going for years. The scene has shifted a bit but still good.

This is outdated info IMO. Things have changed since the pandemic. Current prices are about the same than what's described here.

How does it compare to Thailand?

Not sure I agree about that area. I found a different part to be better value.
