Visited Guatemala for 12 days. Great experience. Scene is active. Pricing fair.
Spent $64/day. Best part: variety.
Overall: 9/10. Would return.

How does it compare to Colombia?

Spot on with the prices. That matches what I paid in February.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

I'd rate it similarly. Solid 8/10 destination.

This is outdated info IMO. Things have changed since the new laws came in. Current prices are actually lower than what's described here.

I was there in March and prices were slightly higher.
Spent about $142/day all-in. Quality was excellent.
My tip: midweek is golden hour.

With respect, my experience was more mixed. But maybe I went at the wrong time.

Been going for years. The scene has shifted a bit but still good.
