Visited Guatemala for 5 days. Great experience. Scene is active. Pricing fair.

Spent $139/day. Best part: variety.

Overall: 8/10. Solid destination.

AMA.

Nice report. Heading there next month — exactly the intel I needed.

With respect, my experience was more mixed. But maybe I went at the wrong time.

I was there in March and prices were great value.

Spent about $109/day all-in. Quality was good.

My tip: avoid weekends.

I was there in February and prices were great value.

Spent about $133/day all-in. Quality was above average.

My tip: midweek is golden hour.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Hmm, I had a different experience. Prices were lower when I went. Maybe timing matters.

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.

Good info. I'd add that going during the week is much better — less crowded, better prices.

Adding my experience from February.

The scene has improved since pre-COVID. Biggest change: more competition.

Quick question — how was the hotel security?
