Just got back from China — trip report March 2026

Just got back from 10 days in China. Here's my detailed report.

Arrival and first impressions: Had a driver arranged in advance. Checked into my hotel near undefined.

Day 1-2: Explored the area, got the lay of the land. Took time to figure out the scene.

Days 3-5: Hit my stride. The undefined area was busy but manageable.

Prices: In line with expectations. Some room for negotiation.

Tips for others: Book your hotel close to the action.

Would I go back? Yes, but maybe try a different area next time.

100% agree. The variety there is hard to beat.

Adding to this thread with my own experience from February:

Things are much the same as always since my last visit in 2024.

Biggest change: Some of the old spots have closed.

Still a great destination. 8/10 from me.
