Trip report: Phuket, mid-March 2026, 3 days. Overall rating: 7/10.

Spent most of my time in the Karon area. Prices were 2000-4000 THB ST. The scene has improved compared to my last visit.

Accommodation: Found a good hotel for $60/night within walking distance of the action. Clean, AC, wifi — all you need.

The girls were friendly. Plenty of options.

Food was great value. Found some great local spots.

Overall: Already planning my next visit.

Happy to answer any questions.

With respect, I think this is a bit optimistic. My experience was more mixed.

Spot on with the prices. That's exactly what I paid when I visited in February.

Adding to this thread with my own experience from 3 weeks ago:

I noticed some changes since my last visit in pre-COVID.

Biggest change: Better quality overall.

Still a great destination. One of my top 3 worldwide.

Adding to this thread with my own experience from last month:

Things are much the same as always since my last visit in 2024.

Biggest change: Some of the old spots have closed.

Still a great destination. Recommend for both beginners and veterans.

Good info. I'd add that the evening is the best time to go.

I had a bad experience there last year. Maybe I went at the wrong time?
