Trip report: Phuket, March 2026, 5 days. Overall rating: 7/10.

Arrival and first impressions: Taxi from airport was straightforward. Checked into my hotel near Kata.

Day 1-2: Explored the area, got the lay of the land. Took time to figure out the scene.

Days 3-5: Hit my stride. The Kata area was buzzing.

Prices: 2000-4000 THB ST. Pay the asking price — it's fair.

Tips for others: Book your hotel close to the action.

Would I go back? Absolutely.

With respect, I think this is a bit optimistic. My experience was more mixed.

Great report! Quick question — how was the wifi at your hotel?

I was there in January and can add some detail:

Prices: Good value overall. I spent about $50/day on the hobby side.

Girls: Mostly locals. Quality was good.

My favorite spot was a place recommended by another member here.

One tip: Avoid weekends if you want better prices.

Adding to this thread with my own experience from 3 weeks ago:

I noticed some changes since my last visit in 2023.

Biggest change: More competition means better service.

Still a great destination. Solid 7/10.

Interesting report but I think you may have overpaid. Next time try negotiating.

What was your total spend for the trip, roughly? Trying to budget for mine.

Any restaurants or bars you'd recommend for hanging out during the day?
