Planning my first trip to Munich. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.
My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to the Philippines?
5. Any apps to use before arriving?
Coming from the UK with experience in a few different countries but first time in Munich.
Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

Agreed on all points. Make sure to book hotels in advance.

Word of caution — do not carry too much cash. Other than that, great destination.

I was there in February and prices were about average. Spent about $80/day all-in.
My tip: midweek is much better.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

First time was overwhelming but exciting. Second time was so much more efficient. Experience makes all the difference.

Word of caution — some online profiles are fake. Other than that, great destination.

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: better quality.

Been going for years. Scene has shifted a bit but still good.
