Planning my first trip to Spain. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Colombia?
5. How is the language barrier?

Coming from the US with experience in Europe but first time in Spain.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

Spot on with the prices. Matches what I paid recently.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Good info. Going during the week is much better — less crowded and better prices.

Been there 10 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The value for money is what keeps me coming back.

Did you use an agency or find girls at the hotel?

First time was a learning experience. Second time was much better. Experience makes all the difference.

I was there in last month and prices were exactly as described. Spent about $50/day all-in.

My tip: go early evening.
