Safety update for Cuba based on recent experience and community reports:

General Safety Level: Moderate — use common sense and you will be fine.

Common Risks:
- Street touts steering you to overpriced venues
- Fake police demanding bribes — ask for badge number
- Romance scams — be skeptical of offers

Areas to Avoid:
Tourist areas are generally safe but stay alert.

Police Situation:
Avoid any interaction with police if possible.

Stay safe out there.

Been there 8 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The friendly atmosphere is what keeps me coming back.

Adding my experience: scene has evolved since pre-COVID. Biggest change: better quality.

Good info. Going during the week is much better — less crowded and better prices.

I was there in February and prices were about average. Spent about $150/day all-in.

My tip: go early evening.
