Safety update for Australia based on recent experience and community reports:

General Safety Level: Higher risk than average — stay vigilant.

Common Risks:
- Drink spiking at bars — watch your drinks
- Tourist pricing — negotiate or walk away
- Bait and switch — verify photos before paying

Areas to Avoid:
Stay out of unlit side streets after midnight.

Police Situation:
Avoid any interaction with police if possible.

Stay safe out there.

I was there in February and prices were exactly as described. Spent about $80/day all-in.

My tip: midweek is much better.

Did you use local sites or find girls at bars?
