Current pricing for South Africa:

Short Time: Budget $20-74, Mid $115-193, Premium $196+
Long Time/Overnight: $188-341
Massage with extras: $37-104

These are approximate ranges as of early 2026. Prices vary by area, provider quality, and negotiation. Tourist areas tend to be more expensive.

Tipping is expected — 10-20% is standard.

Best value: early evening before the rush.

Also recommend downloading Grab before you go. Essential.

I was there in January and prices were slightly higher. Spent about $150/day all-in.

My tip: avoid weekends.

Been there 10 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The value for money is what keeps me coming back.

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.
